Hinges
During the present day you can find hinges in anything from kitchen cabinets to gates to automobiles. Anything that has a door, most likely has a hinge or two connecting it to the rest or the structure.
Usually hinges consist of two flat pieces of metal that are joined by a pin that allows them to pivot off of one another. Other types of hinges can be more complex and depending on the application of the hinges, they can be as decorative or as bland as the manufacturer wants.
Some archeologists believe that hinges date all the way back to the bronze age, or even earlier as some have found.
