Dado
The Dado has been known as convenient and very practical ever since its discovery. They are often made and created on the vertical section on the wood. Examples: installing shelves, adding braces to legs in order to insert a panel into a door frame.
The Dado is known to be discovered for the first time in Italy in the l600s.
Besides the Table saw (Dado sets), the Dado can be created with various hand tools such as: Hand Saw, Chisel, Mallet, Router.
Materials play a huge role when creating the dado.

Pine wood, a softer wood makes the cutting process easier, and cuts very accurately. The use of a jig is mandatory, in order to create the perfect dado.
Dados are mostly used to affix shelves to a bookcase. Combined with a rabbet (rebate) on an adjoining piece, they are used to make the rabbet and dado joint, sometimes used in case goods.
